Eurostar’s First Class / Business Premier lounges at London Waterloo International, Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels-Midi formed part of Eurostar’s early-2000s station and brand upgrade, led by Philippe Starck—because apparently even waiting for a train should feel vaguely cinematic.
We worked with Eurostar and Starck to translate the concept into deliverable interior design and procurement-ready detail, coordinating the bespoke fit-out, furniture and specialist finishes (including signature pieces commissioned for the lounges) through to installation and handover. The flagship London lounge—“Le Salon”—opened at Waterloo in June 2002, designed by Starck and reported as accommodating around 120 passengers, with business facilities integrated into the design. Bespoke furniture included the limited-run Cassina “Eurostar” lounge chairs produced specifically for the London and Paris lounges.
